The client brought in a hard copy print of an old flyer ad that they wanted to recreate with new wording. They did not have a digital version of it, and they needed it done in one day, which was not enough time to recreate the background from scratch. I scanned the folds of my jacket and applied several filters in Photoshop to simulate the background texture. I then typeset the text over the background in Illustrator to insure that the words printed crisply from a vector format.
